This man truly needs no lengthy introduction, but alas I am here giving one of my favorite artists an interview that I’ve been looking forward to for a while. For someone who literally pioneered and dominated the male industry for years, Khalil surely is down to earth. He does have a star quality about him but he is reminiscent of like that nice jock you know in school. He definitely has the body to match, but that’s besides the point… He walked in the office and greeted me with a warm hug before we started the interview. We finally sat down and started one of my most down to earth interviews I’ve had in awhile.

1. JihNu: How are you doing ?

iJamiroquai: I'm awesome, thank you for having me.

2. JihNu: Let me first start off by saying that I love love love your latest music video. What inspired that unique artistic direction for it ?

iJamiroquai: Well, to me the song sounds so futuristic, like the elements a well oiled machine , So I thought of just space and robots. I wanted to do something adventurous and different than just a same ole tongue and cheek dance routine cute video. (He paused for a moment and just stared for a moment.) It needed to be ground-breaking for it to be the first lead single off the album.

3. JihNu: Did you have any hidden messages in the video that you wanted to convey ?

iJamiroquai: The only thing that should of been apparent was me as an artist taking it to the next level. If the album didn't show you that musically, I wanted to give it to you visually. I wanted to grow and be different in every way, I love R&B it's my core but its time to take it up more notches.

JihNu: Well the effort is there and I feel like you conveyed what you were aiming for and it is a hit!

4. JihNu: So do you have any future projects that are coming out soon ?

iJamiroquai: Right now I'm currently working on a visual series. Well you could say I'm testing my writing methods. I want people to see both of my passions which are music and writing. I love them both so much and I'm working on a tour, but I want to do it properly the reason why the current one was postponed. I want to give the fans what they want to see which is a Khalil show.

5. JihNu: I could understand that and I'm sure your fans are kinda sad but look forward to an even better show that you are going to put on. But in keeping with what you said earlier, I knew you were a great writer basically from the jump, but what made you decide that now is the time to put it in the forefront ?

iJamiroquai: This is the 1st time a project of mine has taken longer than normally but that's cause I want bigger I want better. I have to take my time to deliver what I feel is awesome to me. No longer will I do music or videos and I'm not 100% like “Oooh yea dat shit is dope!.” A lot of my projects in the past i just felt there was something missing. So now it's balls to the wall, it’s going to be how Khalil wants it or it’s not going to happen. I want the fans to bear with me I love them so much and will make up dates or missed moments. But I believe every artist in this game should want MORE, staying stagnant is boring.

6. JihNu: What was the deciding factor for you making this comeback ?

iJamiroquai: I took time off cause I was so discouraged and plagued with negativity and negative folk in my life and somethings I just wasn't willing to let go. My circle of friends which is very small they pushed me but I wasn't ready. But seeing people who love this from my standpoint of loving this(The Music) Shy, Sparkle, Bos, Mikey, and Naheem made me see that there's hope left and I missed it soo much I got reinspired through them to continue.

7. JihNu: That's so great and I'm sure they would be happy to see you say this. But speaking of people who love music and great artists let's take it to some typical artist questions for the fans. Do you have any people who inspire you artists or not ?

iJamiroquai: God inspires me everyday to put my best foot foward in life even when I feel I can't go on I have a fighting spirit that keeps me pushing. As far as artists go, I love the Og's who inspired me and I love some of the current artists. I think we inspire each other when we're not hating. I think hate is just a low key them saying you inspired me, but I would never tell you.

8. JihNu: Do you got any upcoming artists that you like or who have caught your eye?

iJamiroquai: Well it's no secret, I love my bestie Naheem and Big bro Mikey. But I like Paxton he's dope and a hard worker. Alyssa also has great work.

JihNu: (Of course you know I had to voice my opinion) Paxton caught my eye too, he is cute as fuck.

iJamiroquai: ...and taken so watch it (We Both Laughed)

9. JihNu: How's everything going with your love life ? Is there a secret lover we should know about ?(Following up with a low key wink after I asked him the question.)

iJamiroquai: Umm love for Khalil has been odd I have tried to do it twice and It's just not meant to be so unfortunately I'm single at the moment.

JihNu: Okay well I'll make sure to make that a special segment on this interview.

iJamiroquai: Yasss! For the Love of Khalil. MACtv get on it.

JihNu: (Laughs) We'll pitch that to Adri

9. JihNu: but besides that do you have anything you want to say to your fans ? And future lover(s)?

iJamiroquai: To my fans your love and support warms my heart. I thank you for always being there for me through the ups and downs. I hope I have I been making you all proud. As far as a future lover, if you can deal with all 40 of me then you have a hubby for life.
