V - Ari Of WiSH: Sit-Down Series #3

This beautiful and fashionable lady is no stranger to both the music and the fashion industry. She is both a successful entertainer and also model. She’s been in various magazines and performed on countless stages with the immensely successful girl group WiSH and also has many solo projects to her name. She is clearly a multi-threat. Ari(Paris) manages artists, edits her own work, has choreographed songs for various artists and produced music. With all of that to her name she also has her own radio show and TV special ‘Episodes with Episode.’ She is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the business. I’m truly happy to be interviewing her and hopefully will be able to shine a light on who she is behind the glitz and glamour.

1. JihNu: So how are you doing today ?

Episode: I'm great! I got to skip some people in the welfare line, so I feel like a million bucks. (She laughs.)

2. JihNu: So what is the famous Ari of WiSH upto these days?

Episode: She is in the low end of the light. I've been focused on my little ol' life and been putting my foot more into modeling like recently I've been casted to be on the first season of Model Slayhem and I'm in the final 8 #EliteEight so it's nice to get more into that side of my life that been on and off for me.

3. JihNu: You're on single digits now, how are you feeling now that you're getting to the top ?

Episode: You know what I'll be honest. I was not expecting to have gotten so far because it's some WONDERFUL talent on the show and I figured I would get far, but didn't know it would be THIS far. I see myself going another week or two then getting the axe finally.Like I did see myself going far but its actually far into the competition and I've really made it but I still don't see myself winning tbh so I expect to be gone soon

4. JihNu: I know you are a lady of many jobs and talents. What do you currently have on your plate for the upcoming weeks and months? More comedy shows? hint hint...

Episode: Ok... hint. I'm working on a porno. Finally. It's about time I give back to my community and give them the tips and secrets to a good shower rod that Mimi didn't share. And a strong toilet. But no but seriously. I'm going with the flow at the moment. I'm paused on solo music because I'm honestly still in a writer's block, at least solo wise. Comedy show... everyone keeps asking for another but I'm thinking on that as well. My radio show is on a break so right now I'm taking my time and enjoying the break and waiting for the right time to have everything happen again.

5. JihNu: Ohh and would this "everything" include maybe a WiSH comeback ?

Episode: If them bitches can answer my call and get the dick out their mouth I think so... At least for Ryn but Jessi like to hide in the shadows of the islands but you never know. WiSH truly is forever so you never know.

6. JihNu: I would think it would have to be you that they had to wrangle because of how super booked you are. What do you do when you need to focus yourself and even the WiSH ladies?

Episode: Well I have a hard time wrangling myself (no pun intended). But when it comes to my sisters I will drop everything for them. I will say this, and you didn't hear it from me but, we have been talking on the low under the table about some things that's all I can say.

7. JihNu: I mean you all did release Work From Home which is still on repeat in my house and my car.

Episode: you didn't say at work, or wal-mart so you're not a real fan.(She cackles) Come on now!

8. JihNu: So you released Work From Home as a anniversary present for the fans along with the perfumes. Are there any other things we might get a hint about ?

Episode: Well... if I hinted anything else they would kill me. But I can say this as well which you also didn't hear from me. We plan to make up big time for Domination not being released and even some stuff during the Death Wish era.

9. JihNu: Okay now speaking of your WiSH sisters Ma'am. Ryn/Bimini had just released her first solo album a few weeks ago. What are your thoughts and feelings on the project? I saw you were featured on multiple songs.

Episode: Well I tell her and Jessi how I feel about their projects all the time. Because I want what's best for them. I personally like it not because I've known her for a long time but because A. she put a great effort into it that is being shown and B. to be the only rap chick repping all these years. She's doing it right and as for the song I'm on batches and cookies I had to warm up to it honestly.

10. JihNu: Oh why do you say that? Was the song itself or maybe the lyrics?

Episode: No, I wasn't expecting her to hit me with that. So I had to let it sink in and I'm picky about what I put my name on because it's YOU and what you stand for as an artist on the track. So after I listened I was like ok. I'm rocking with this I can make this my sound on her track as well so I'll do it

11. JihNu: but you know it's still new for me or rather I'm not use to V the rapper so for those who don't know, Ari/V is more than a beautiful Vocalist from WiSH but she also has some bars in her. What made you also want to dabble and explore rap ?

Episode: I've rapped before it's just not my prime sound. Like I love rap but I know its not my full sound. It's my mix up sound so I can remind people of my rang. Hell even Gaga and Beyonce have rapped before

12. JihNu: So let me ask you about the industry, I've seen a few artists openly talk about the current condition that it's in. What are you current thoughts about the industry ? Do you think that it has lost it's life?

Episode: Hell yea! Too many people who are bullshit.

13. JihNu: And by those people you're referring to just amateur artists or do you want to specifically say?

Episode: It's one of those too many to call type of thing. I see so many people on the daily I don't bother to even keep track anymore. It's a mix of both honestly. People who have been around for a while and selling bullshit to the masses and then new people not making it better because they're looking up to the wrong people.so its shit on top of more shit.

14. JihNu: You know, I've heard stories of artists who were told they weren't "talented" if they didn't type out the lyrics to 100% of the song. what are your thoughts on that comment?

Episode: its a crock of shit and this is what I tell those people. Why would you get dressed to go out to watch people type every word you can hear + add one or two dances to it all. You call that talent? You call that hard work? If I get dressed up and go out to an event I want to see a show! So what if you have to type/hide 20 triggers during your performance that hard work will go a looooooong way. Stop being lazy! Also anyone can type some lyrics. So should we call them famous and say they have talent?

JihNu: No I don't think we should, I would rather a visual performance than seeing someone type out whole paragraphs,

Episode: And that's how I feel about it all. It's not soo much the image sometimes its the live because WiSH got its name for only doing live shows. Do you think we would be where we are now for a two or one step and typing. That's not an act you pay to see.

JihNu: I love what you just said because it leads into my next question. Now being a veteran artist and being a part of WiSH you are no stranger to being PAIDT to the godz.You also have many achievements to your name. Do you have that one iconic moment that you often think back to ? Maybe the first paycheck or award?

Episode: Girl that first paycheck was 30k split 3 ways hell yea I remember that check. Bought my pussy some more miles. Like an insurance for your pussy. But I always remember Fashion Week that we headlined.

JihNu: I believe it I remember backup dancing for you guys’s tour

Episode: It was such a major moment for us. We got to open like 2 or 3 times as a headlines, we also performed for Bape and Fine that show week. We were(and still are) plastered all over the side of the venue, and we walked the hell off the stage like some divas because people kept messing up the performance and still kept our name. (She smiles after saying that)

15. JihNu: So Ari what do you say to people who try to discredit you and your achievements?

Episode: Show me the receipts (She smiled a cheeky smile)... That's all

16. JihNu: But speaking about haters and negative people do you remember a moment in the past where you were put down by anyone? Maybe when you were first beginning ?

Episode: There was this one time. We were new and trying to book stuff and we had a showing for like 3 or 2 people to try to book us and they hated everything, they thought it was dumb, and that we would never get paid for our work. Well bitch look at us know. I fucked the right man to book us and we are stars. Ok that's not true @ the last part but I do sometimes get defeated even now.

17. JihNu: And what do you do to get out of those feelings?

Episode: I take a moment to get myself together and remember all that you have accomplished solo and group wise to get where are now and that's something NO ONE can ever take from you no matter what. I'm that comedy girl, I'm that WiSH girl, I'm Ari. The one and only Episode as I always say on my show.

18. JihNu: But we're entering the final topic of our interview. We've talked about your work life and the industry but not everyone knows about you behind the glitz and glamour. For those who don't know Ari is basically a married woman. How are things going with you and the beaux ?

Episode: Married? and you didn't say alleged? I'm suing

19. JihNu: How's the husband and the puppy ?

Episode: My boyfriend and I have been going strong for a long while now and the puppies have been great Key and Minko. We're very low key.

20. JihNu: but what are 3 things you MUST have with you when you leave home?

Episode: lip stick vibrator, EBT card, and lip chap. No but I will say. My phone, Makeup, and MP3 player for my car to play my music.

21. JihNu: okay for you my darling I want to know if you have anything you wanted to get off of your chest about the industry or anything you just want to plug publicly ?

22. JihNu: Do you have anything you want to specifically say to your fans ?

Episode: shit I'm horrid at promoting. Thank you for accepting the wild crazy me for me. It means a lot to me that I get to be myself and people don't make a big deal out of it support us and to the Korean fans Fighting! <3

She truly is very down to earth when you see her behind the glitz and glamour. This interview totally caught me off guard because I was expecting a totally side of her and I definitely didn't know she would answer ALL of my questions concerning other artists. I definitely would want another interview with her.
