DJ - FRE$H Royalty Records Bad Boy: Sit-Down Series #4

This Royalty Records artist can be seen as one who is a rare commodity when it comes to performing live. He has been linked to Groups like WiSH and various other artists throughout the industry. He is an accomplished singer, rapper, writer, and producer. Although he may not be seen so much publicly at events, he is no stranger to anyone in the industry. He has been through a fair share of drama, beefing with other public figures and artists in the past. Although he’s been through negative situations in the past and even the ended of his very public relationship with BosQueen he never lets the negativity show any sign of affecting him publicly. So you know it feels like there is a shortage in male artists in the industry, especially heterosexual men, so of course I’d be excited to interview him.

1.JihNu: Firstly I wanted to thank you for coming down to the IMVU Music offices for this interview, I wanted to show some men in the industry in a different light because being one it comes with certain stigmas. But how are you doing ?

OddFvture: I’m good.

2. JihNu: So how is everything going with your music? I see right off of the heels of your ep, you're planning on releasing a joint mixtape with a new artist Jay.

OddFvture: Well everything with my music is good, I'm blessed. Everyone loved my ep "Stages Of A Break-UP." Like you said, I’m working on a mixtape with my lil brother, who is a new artist.

3.JihNu: It's no problem at all. What made you want to decide to make music with him ?

OddFvture: Well he is a dope artist and songwriter and he is my brother. You can't really beat chemistry with your sibling.

4. JihNu: How would you describe the sound of that mixtape or what vibe are you going for ?

OddFvture: Well lately I been into story telling with my music, but this isn't going to be like that. It’s going to be just a collection of dope ass music you can vibe too, dance, a few songs you can play to set a little mood.

5. JihNu: Should we expect any other collaborations on it from other artists?

OddFvture: Yea it will be a few maybe, not sure who but we are working on it.

6. JihNu: And it's going to be dropped on the 30th ?

OddFvture: yes may 30th is the date we decided to drop it

7.JihNu: it seems like before you started dropping music last month you were quiet, what was going on?

OddFvture: Just living life you know. Some people don’t know, but in real life I'm going for my masters degree. I work alot as well so i was just busy really. Education is key to success

8. JihNu: But while we're on this topic of things outside of music I would like to ask you more personal things. I know this might be a touchy subject for some but you and I have had a conversation behind the scenes that I won't really touch on

9. JihNu: But we all knew you and BosQueen were in a very public yet intimate relationship.I wanted to see how you were doing in the aftermath?

OddFvture: Well first lemme say i love bos to death. That’s my best friend no matter what. So when we decided to end it, it wasn't any drama or fighting. It was just two adults that decided that they were going in different directions in their life. Really nobody really even know we broke up until i told everyone.

10. JihNu: So did the end of that relation influence your music currently ?

OddFvture: Ehh... Yes and no.

11. JihNu: Why do you say that?

OddFvture: With the break up ep, she will tell you herself I been quiet. But that's what i been working on for months. Thats why its kinda more put together then some of my other projects as far as the story. But making music about break ups while actually going through one really brought out the emotion.

JihNu: But let's segway into another similar topic. The team has done some digging on you (Smiles Mischievously)

OddFvture: aw shit (He laughed)

12. JihNu: you know we had to so we could bring up juicy topics. From what they found out you are no stranger to dramatic situations (laughs)

OddFvture: this may or may not be true (He laughs louder)

13. JihNu: So if you could take back anything you've done, been through or said would you ? and what would it be ?

OddFvture: probably not

14. JihNu: Oh why not ?

OddFvture: what i have done and said is how i got to where i am now. You can't grow until you done fucked up a few times.

15. JihNu: so what would you say to, your brother if or when he goes through these kinds of situations? What advice would you give to him ?

OddFvture: My advice that i already gave him is… Be yourself and if you get knocked down get back up and try to leave these hoes alone. But I know he won't (He laughs). So like I said he gone have to learn.

17. JihNu: Speaking of hoes and all the ladies tied to your name. Do you have any special leading ladies or potential ladies? Or are you cool with the bachaelor life? :P

OddFvture: For right now I'm just making music, making money, and doing me.

18. JihNu: Speaking of making music and money. What other things are you working on besides music ?

OddFvture: Well, I can't get into too much details. But I’m working on something like a music sharing site for imvu where you can go and listen to everyone's music.So i guess that's still music related.

19. JihNu: Ooh shit you making your way to being the next JayZ or somthing ?

OddFvture: Yes you can say that, trying to make boss moves, just have a company that's mine you know.

JihNu: I see you and thats definitely cool.'ll pass my resume over to your people. I don’t mind a extra paycheque.

OddFvture: (He laughs) Why you playing I could use your help but we will talk privately about that

JihNu: Okay I don't work for cheap though… Just saying. (Erupts in laughter)

OddFvture: You gone make me move my company to mexico

JihNu: I mean you could move it to the backwaters of Mississippi and… Ya know what not Mississipi, they don't like my people.

20. JihNu: But it's cool that you got so much more going on. I feel like you are one of those chefs that lock themselves in the kitchen and just gives their waiters/waitresses bomb ass food. But not a lot of people see it or what exactly you are about to make, it just comes to the table and is a automatic hit.

OddFvture: i agree with that

21. JihNu: Do you have anyone you dream of collaborating with ?Well you could literally pull whoever you want...

OddFvture: (He Smiles) Naw not really. I have a few people i plan on working with though.

22. JihNu: Oh anyone you want to name ?

OddFvture: You will know when its time lol

(After a bit of prodding he finally answered.)

OddFvture: hmmm… Kumiko

23. JihNu: Okay we are nearing the end of this interview. But I wanted to give you the time to address anything you wanted to address. Do you have anything you want to publically say to any nay sayers, a shoutout maybe or anything ?

OddFvture: Shout out my lil brother. Shout out my homie lvahj. To my haters...Put some respeck on my name I ain't gone tell yall no moe. (We both crack up laughing)

JihNu: I wasnt expecting that

24.JihNu: Before we end I wanted to ask about the industry. You made some comments in the past about the industry, what are your current views on it?

OddFvture: It's still fucked up, we got people who rp rl artist but neverrrr released any music and they get praised and we got artist working that people never noticed. It’s not all of the real impersonator artists though lemme say that. Just like 90%.

25. JihNu: My next question was going to be what is your view on the imitation artists in general?

OddFvture: Well to me, obviously it's stupid as fuck to try to be like another mudda fucka. It’s better to be original. But for some who have always been told they not good enough, this may be a way to be someone. For some it's just easier to rp a real artist, like they be like "oh I'm poppin." I’d be popping too if I was Drake or imvu or /beyonce or some shit. Be poppin while being you then I'll respect it

JihNu: Okayy Mr Dj.Fre$h the last thing I want to ask. Do you have anything you want to say to your fans? (And your lova you have in hiding)

OddFvture: Without you there is no me, so thank you and my money is my lova. It’s not hiding its resting in my bank account. Speaking of which have your producers direct deposit my check (He laughed)
